Das Ziel dieses Beitrages ist eine Dokumentation der heute noch vorhandenen Streckenabschnitte und Kunstbauten. Es besteht die Hoffnung, dass diese Relikte nicht zerstört, sondern als erhaltenswerte Kultur– und Technikdenkmale angesehen und unter Denkmalschutz gestellt werden. The documentation of the historic horse-drawn railway Budweis - Linz - Gmunden is an important concern in terms of cultural policy and monument preservation. The evaluation of the digital terrain models generated by airborne laser scanning now allows new knowledge about the course of the former railway line. The aim of this article is to document the route sections and engineering structures that are still in existence today. It is hoped that these relics will not be destroyed, but will be viewed as cultural and technical monuments worth preserving and placed under monument protection.
